In Futurama, a retro-futuristic 31st-century delivery company employs a late-20th-century New York City pizza delivery kid, Philip J. Fry, who was unintentionally cryogenically frozen for a thousand years and now works for Planet Express, a retro-futuristic delivery company. In this theme, we cover the best futurama characters to watch.
Philip J. Fry
Philip J. Fry is the first one on our list of best futurama characters. They chose to name the show Futurama after him. Because he is the show’s primary protagonist. He is a pizza delivery boy who is cryogenically frozen by accident while on his first-ever delivery.
And thawed out 1,000 years later. He was the main character in the show until The Late Philip J. Fry. In which they kill his character off.
As the main character in the TV show Futurama, Philip J. Fry is a slacker who is often late, lazy, and a complete idiot. Because of this, he is in peril all the time. And no one (except his on/off girlfriend, Leela) likes him.
So, his mission in life is to fail everything he does. He is a complete moron who doesn’t care about anything except pizza. Also, he can easily manipulated. And they often use him to further the plot. Or to make the other futurama characters look smart.
Turanga Leela of Futurama characters is the only female member of the Planet Express crew. They found Leela in a box floating in the New New York harbour. With her parents and two other mutants, Hubert and Munda.
Leela went to a school for mutants. Her classmates were outcasts because her strange features made her different from them. Leela is a mutant with one eye, one antenna, and one arm.
Also she can stretch her arm to incredible lengths. Leela is the ship’s pilot and the first person to join Fry. After he accidentally freezes himself for a thousand years.
Her existence inspires Professor Hubert Farnsworth to create the first-ever robot-human hybrid. American actress Katey Sagal portrays Leela. Who also voices her mother and her grandmother. And is the only principal character to appear in all four televised seasons.
Bender Bending Rodriguez
Bender Bending Rodriguez is the third in our list of best futurama characters. John DiMaggio voices him. And is a self-aware, beer-drinking, smoking, mad Robot. Despite his violent and unsympathetic demeanour, the other futurama characters are liked, or at least tolerated.
Because he is, at his core, honest and good-hearted, Bender was built in Tijuana, Mexico, in 2996. They originally programmed him to bend girders for a new orbital neurosurgical facility. But his criminal record led the government to shut the project down.
And, in fear of being turned in, he fled to the future. In the 31st century, Bender turned his life around and became a career crook. And Bender is now wanted to steal various items from the heads of the planets in the future.
It is later revealed that Bender is also wanted in the past to steal Thor’s hammer. Bender is a robot in his own right, just like the other robots. And participates in the democratic order of planets as a full member.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth
Series creator and executive producer Matt Groening voice Professor Hubert Farnsworth. And first appeared briefly in the episode “The Lesser of Two Evils”. And in the first episode of the series, titled “Space Pilot 3000.” He is the only proprietor of the delivery company known as Planet Express. This is the company for which the major characters in Futurama work.
Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth is a scientist and inventor, and the employer of Philip J. Fry. He is the only proprietor of the delivery company known as Planet Express. An interstellar package delivery business that he founded in the year 2961.
Moreover, his intelligence is really good, and he is a supporter of the Republican Party. We know Professor Farnsworth for his short-sightedness, occasional insanity, and intelligence.
Amy Wong is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Wong and the girlfriend of Philip J. Fry. She is a stereotypical Asian “geek girl”. Fry and Amy have been friends since they were both in diapers. They began dating in “Love’s Labours Lost in Space” (1999).
Amy is the product of an affair between Mr Wong and his nurse. Her father is a successful doctor, and her mother is a housewife. She attended Mars University and earned a doctorate in Applied Physics at 13.
Her parents sent her to Mars University to keep her out of trouble. She has been a member of the Thundercocks, a rock band. She is a gothic-lifestyle supporter. Amy is an over-achiever and is known for being the most mature and serious of the Planet Express crew. As well as being a brilliant neuroscientist.
Hermes Conrad, PhD, is the bureaucrat of Planet Express. The co-owner and co-pilot of Planet Express Ship and the proprietor of Gynecaladriel’s. He is in charge of keeping the company organized and running smoothly.
Hermes has always failed a task at which he has always failed, despite being the company’s Vice President. He is a robot built and programmed to be a bureaucrat (hence his name). After 1,000 years of failure, Hermes has become wise and, according to some, even slightly self-aware.
Hermes Conrad is the only character of a known species. The other futurama characters are human, Robot, or otherwise not stated. They built Hermes with a “perfect Spanish accent and exquisite taste in fashion”.
Zoidberg is a Decapodian employed as a doctor at Planet Express. He is a friend to everyone at Planet Express. Especially Fry, whom he considers a good friend. Zoidberg is in a state of near-perpetual employment at Planet Express.
Despite his apparent incompetence and inability to practise medicine properly. He has a long-term romantic interest in Turanga Leela but is frequently rejected. Often they make him jokes due to his profession, appearance, and mannerisms.
Billy West voices him using a combination of marbles in his mouth and a throat lozenge to approximate his squishy-sounding speech. And is continuously keeping an eye out for undiscovered forms of extraterrestrial life. Once someone described Zoidberg in an episode as a “semi-decomposed crustacean”. He smells like “a giant rotting crab carcass” but has no sense of smell.
The Robot Devil
The Robot Devil is among one of a recurring futurama characters. Maurice LaMarche voices the Robot Devil and first appears in “Is Other Robots”. He is a robot with red skin, horns and a goatee. We often see him in the company of his girlfriend, a pink Robot named Coilette.
He owns a nightclub called Club Diabolus and has many minions who work for him. He is the chief of Robot, who oversees the torment of sinful robots. Robot has a deal in which he collects the souls of sinful robots and sends them to another robot to let the rest go to Heaven. They often portrayed him as a stereotypical devil. Always trying to make a deal with Fry or others.
He is a janitor and is voiced by actor John DiMaggio. He is a purple, furry male humanoid with a deep, gravelly voice.
Scruffy, also known as “Scruff” (as referred to in Into the Wild Green Yonder), is the janitor of Planet Express. And, like his colleagues, he is a very poor, hard-working individual. Who, despite his poverty, is generally happy with his life.
Also he is very strong, as seen in That Darn Katz. He can stop a falling elevator from crushing the crew with his bare hands. Additionally, he is incredibly dedicated to his work, as evidenced by the fact that he cleans up any mistakes that the crew creates.
Including the time Professor Farnsworth destroyed the building (“The Late Philip J. Fry. And is often seen at services (“Insane in the Mainframe”). John DiMaggio, who also voices Bender voices scruffy.
Next on our list of best futurama characters is Nibbler. He is a Nibblonian, an extraterrestrial species that advises the show’s main characters. And as the “rabbit in the hat” of The Nibblonians, a group dedicated to preventing the universe’s destruction. Billy West voices Nibbler and his species.
There is a famous meme in Futurama where Nibbler eats a pizza. Nibbler is a pet of Bender. He is the most intelligent character in Futurama. He is a Nibblonian who works with the Nibblonian High Council.
Nibbler is a small, shapeshifting alien who is a pet of Bender. In “Bender’s Big Score”, Nibbler tells the Professor that he is his kind. And that he is a “shape-shifter, gentleman, and a killer”.
Nibbler has only been seen in his natural form once. In the episode “Godfellas”, we see Nibbler’s true form, which resembles a large, pink brain with a mouth.
Morbo the Annihilator
Morbo the Annihilator is our next character in the list of best futurama characters. He is an alien. They mistakenly identified him as being from the planet Morbus in “Bender Gets Made”.
He is a news anchor on Space Station: Earth in addition to being a member of the Democratic Order of Planets. Morbo and his co-host, Linda, host a news show called “Universal News”. Which focuses on “all the news that’s fit to print, and even the stuff that isn’t”. Maurice LaMarche voices Morbo.
He was introduced in the series’ first episode, “Space Pilot 3000”, and is voiced by Billy West. Brannigan, an ambitious and ineptly self-confident starship captain in the Earthican Democratic Order, is an incompetent, vain and lecherous buffoon.
He is the captain of the starship Nimbus, which he believes is the greatest ship in the universe. However, it is outdated and ill-maintained. Despite his flaws, he is a skilled and capable leader. Who, at times, can be a hero and save the day.
A highly incompetent, narcissist captain of the Planet Express delivery ship. Brannigan is a parody of various “tough guy” characters featured in science fiction shows and movies. He is the most prominent and recurring futurama character of the series. And many people believe that she is the most well-liked of all the characters.
Kif Kroker is an Amphibiosan officer in the Democratic Order of Planets Navy who serves under the command of Zapp Brannigan. We consider him Zapp’s best friend. He is an officer on the Nimbus and Zapp’s first officer.
Before that, he was Zapp’s assistant. They often overlook kif for higher ranking assignments. But he is an essential part of Zapp’s command and is widely considered one of the finest officers in the DOOP.
He is an excellent marksman and swordsman and a very skilled pilot. He is not very bright and is often the brunt of jokes from his peers. Kif is very insecure about his intelligence. Kif is very loyal to Zapp.
He is also very polite and is often the first to apologize. When he feels that he has done something wrong, he also cares deeply for Zapp, as shown by his willingness to risk his life for Zapp’s sake. They show again this when he kills himself to save Zapp from the Brain Spawn.
He is a cyclops and gets most of the abuse from Zapp. He is Zapp Brannigan’s lackey, and Zapp is much better at the job than Zapp is himself.
Hermes Conrad was the bureaucrat at Planet Express and is Philip J. Fry’s best friend. Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, gave birth to him, and he is her son. But it is from the incredibly stupid village of Tarpit. He is in charge of the accounting at Planet Express. And is very proud to be the head bureaucrat.
He also has his pet, Nibbler. Hermes is a very cautious person and is always worrying about something. They showed him to love the rules and outdated methods. But can break them to save people or complete a task.
He tends to be a bit of a hypocrite, berating Fry and Leela for their constant breaking of rules while doing the same himself. He is also a bit of a gossip, as he will most likely spread gossip to other crew members.
The Calculon of futurama characters is a male human whose career as an actor, orator, and musical performer has made him a cultural icon. Calculon is a robot built entirely from scratch by the inimitable Monique’s actor owner.
He is capable of expressing complex emotions and is a real boy in his own words. The League of Robots included Calculon as a member of their ranks. Mom created a group of robots to destroy all human life.
However, he rebelled and became a member of the human-friendly League of Mad Atoms and then the Neutral People. Calculon is also a big fan of the Three-Armed Trio. A group of childhood friends shared his birthday and attended their reunion in 3013.
Calculon is the president of the Philip J. Fry Fans. A club devoted to the memory of Philip J. Fry, who has become a messianic figure to robots.
Hedonismbot is a robot that is programmed to be hedonistic. Mom constructed him in 3010. He is a slave owned by Mom and a participant of the League of Robots at the same time. He is the only known Hedonismbot, except the one in Bender’s Game, destroyed. Hedonismbot has a deep, smooth voice that sounds like a male and is highly misogynistic.
Hedonismbot is a very advanced robot that is programmed to experience a pleasure. And it’s one of the first things he says in the show, and one of the first things he does is order a pizza. He’s programmed to enjoy eating.
Anyways, he’s got this little thing in his head, it’s like a meter, and it goes up when he’s enjoying himself and down when he’s not. And if it ever goes down all the way, he’ll kill himself. And he’s got this little thing that counts down from 10, and then he’ll kill himself.
The Donbot is the head of the Robot Mafia on Earth. And is most likely the most powerful Robot in the world. He is extremely wealthy and powerful and also runs the Robot Mafia.
We once saw him as a hero fighting against robots who abused a human. However, it was later discovered that he had always been in control of the Robot Mafia the entire time. The Donbot has only a few lines of dialogue per episode.
Tinny Tim of futurama characters was a robot built without a backup system. This meant that he would cease to function if it ever turned him off. Tinny Tim had a cracked shell, possibly because of his low budget.
Bender has frequently pushed around, who mistook him for an ATM. We often saw him with a mug of beer. He is often short and speaks in a high-pitched voice, probably why Bender mistook him for an ATM.
