    Performance

Fluke 902 FC is capable of measuring current up to 600 AC and voltage up to 600 V AC / DC. You can measure capacitance (up to 1000 μF) and resistance (up to 60 kg). The Fluke 902 FC DC micrometer can measure up to 200 μF. As for temperature, 902 FC can measure between -10-degrees to 400-degrees. The device is equipped with minimum / maximum recording.

    Design

The Fluke 902 FC is built with a stiff case and a raw jaw mechanism that is strong and durable. Thanks to its narrow body, you can easily use the device only in hard angles like tube and trucking. Additionally, changing the battery is a breeze. However, compared to other clamp meters, it is not as durable as it seems.

    Safety and warranty

The Fluke 902 FC features an IP30 rating in contrast to dust and water. It also has a 3 year warranty period. The device is also protected by CAT IV 600 V and CAT III 1000 V.

    Buying guide

Here are some things to keep in mind when looking for the best clamp meter:

    Safety

The most important aspect you should consider when looking for the best clamp meter is the amount of protection it can provide. This can be easily determined by the build quality and material of the device. A secure clamp meter needs to have higher resistance and current rating and overall voltage. Additionally, devices must have all regulatory certificates.

    Maximum resistance limit

The resistance of a clamp meter is measured in ohms and will give you how much flow the device can stop. You will get a rough idea of how hard it is for the current to flow through the conductor. In most cases, the clamp meter has a resistance limit of at least 4 KΩ. However, there are some models that can have a resistance limit of 10 KΩ. If you regularly deal with heavy transport equipment and tools, it is advisable to choose a clamp meter with a resistance limit of 20 KΩ.

    Clamp size

Clamp size refers to the starting edge of a machine. These startups are the holders that are used to hold the conductor. The size of the opening ranges from 18 mm to 45 mm. Clamps are available in different sizes. The clamp meter clamp size should be able to contract or extend so that the conductor can fit easily. Besides, they need to be done without hands so that you do not have to physically touch the conductor.

    Crest factor

A clamp meter crest factor means measuring current in the waveform. To find this value, you need to measure the current top value as opposed to the RMS value (root mean square), this will be important to you as it will help you understand the overloads of the circuit.

    Backlit screen

Most electrical jobs are in poorly lit and dark areas so, reading screens can become difficult. The clamp meter you choose needs to have a screen with a backlight that allows you to read the measurements more easily.

    Warranty

Clamp meter expensive equipment; Therefore you must choose what comes with a warranty period. You can get cheaper devices on the market, but they have no warranty and have the highest chance of breaking. Opt for a clamp meter that offers a warranty period of at least 1 year. Some brands even offer a warranty period of up to 3 years.

    Compatibility to smartphone

Nowadays, clamp meters are compatible with your smartphone device via IR communication or Bluetooth. This will allow you to work without having to physically approach the meter to check the measurements. In addition to being highly secure, you can toggle and tune the meter from your smartphone, which also includes email correspondence, real-time report sharing, and cloud storage on quite efficient devices.
